VCTPL - The ideal gateway on east coast of India

Visakha Container Terminal Pvt Ltd achieved over 100,000 TEUs in the Operational year July 2009 to Jun 2010. This is a 24% increase over the last operational year.  After a humble beginning in 2003, the terminal which is an ideal gateway on east coast of India has witnessed steady growth in the last seven years during which it has maintained high standards in handling, productivity and safety. This achievement was possible due to the continued patronage of shipping lines, exporters, importers and other service providers.

The future of VCTPL looks promising with massive Greenfield and Brownfield plans being materialized in the hinterland. As a result a lot of project cargo is being imported. The project cargo which usually comes in special containers . VCTPL is fully equipped with the right infrastructure to handle special containers. The project cargo which are regularly handled at VCTPL includes boilers, turbines, generators and auxiliaries for coal plant, self propelled areal platforms, pressure filters, plant machinery etc. Major steel and Aluminum, Ferro Alloys and Refractory industries are expanding their production facilities in the hinterland consisting of seven states namely Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
